Sonora is the County seat to Tuolumne County and home to the Mother Lode Roundup, our annual rodeo and parade held every Mother's Day weekend. But besides that, it is a great place to live for a number of reasons. First, the weather is perfect. It has four distinct but mild seasons. When it's hot in the summer, there are plenty of places to cool off. And in the winter, there is skiing and snow play just minutes away. Second, Sonora is an easy commute to Modesto and the central valley. Third, Sonora is very community oriented. People here are always willing to help out, have a chat or offer a friendly wave. Finally, Sonora is a great place to raise a family. There are good schools and plenty of things to do for kids of all ages. If you're looking for a place to call home, Sonora is definitely worth considering.
